Rivers in Estes Park Area

BIG THOMPSON RIVER BELOW THE DAM - 
nymphs in the morning and dries in the afternoon.  Rs2, pheasant tails in size 18 and 20 for the morning and flying black ants, BWO size 16 and 18 in the afternoons.

BIG THOMPSON RIVER ABOVR THE DAM.   
Gold kastmasters and worms.  Flying black ant, elk hair Caddis and BWO.
 
FALL RIVER.
Worms fished off the bottom outside of RMNP.
 
 

Lakes in Estes Park

LAKE ESTES

Worms, pink power bait fished off the bottom.  Also reports on salmon eggs and bubble fly with flying black ant, renegads and orange Asher's

 

MARY'S LAKE

 Worms and power bait, MULTI-color.  Bubble fly with renegades and orange Asher's 

Fishing Rocky Mountain National Park

LILLY LAKE    Not a good year for Lilly.  They will be restocking with fry again this year.  Loss of fish probably due to new outlet vs old drain system(not last years flood)

SPRAGUE LAKE. Silver and gold kastmasters are working.  Bubble fly fishing with the orange Asher and Renegade in the eveings and mornings has been good!

HIGH MTN LAKES Size 18 loop wing emerges are working as well as size 18 mosquitos and size 16 flying black ants.

MORAINE PARK.  Flying black ants, grasshoppers and BWO are working. Also try prince bead head nymphs off the bottom. Glacier creek doing well on same dries as Moraine Park.

 

ROARING RIVER  no reports yet.  Loss of fish due to flood.  Should be back fishable next yr.
