Introduction to Fly Tying

This class is perfect for beginners, even those who have never even seen a fly tied!

You will learn how your tools and equipment work, starting with how to adjust a vise, hook placement, starting your thread on the hook, securing and wrapping materials, and mastering the half-hitch and the “Whip Knot” tools used to finish a fly with a final knot. Right away, you will begin practicing with these tools by learning and tying several flies chosen to incorporate these skills and techniques.

You will leave the class with enough hooks and materials to tie these patterns at home.

All tools and equipment are available for use during the session, and all materials are provided.
