Guided Snowshoeing Frequently Asked Question
Do I need any experience to join a snowshoeing trip?
Not at all. Our trips are beginner-friendly, and our guides will show you everything you need to know before hitting the trail.
Is snowshoeing physically difficult?
If you can walk, you can snowshoe. Our guides pace the trip based on your comfort and fitness level. It’s a great low-impact winter workout!
What should I wear?
Dress in layers! We recommend a moisture-wicking base layer, an insulating mid-layer (like fleece), and a waterproof outer layer. We’ll send you a full gear guide after booking—and we can provide winter boots if needed.
Do I need to bring my own gear?
Nope. We provide snowshoes, poles, and other winter gear. Just show up dressed appropriately, and we’ll handle the rest.
What if the weather is bad?
We monitor conditions closely. If the weather poses a safety risk, we’ll work with you to reschedule or refund your trip. That said, snowshoeing is often best during or right after snowfall—it’s part of the magic!
Can kids come along?
Yes! We welcome snowshoers ages 8 and up. It’s a great winter activity for families.
Where do we meet for the trip?
Trips begin at Scot’s Sporting Goods in Estes Park. From there, your guide will lead you to the trailhead. Directions and details will be sent after booking.
How long is the trip?
Trips typically last 2.5 to 3 hours, including orientation and trail time.
Is there a restroom on the trail?
Most trails don’t have restrooms, but we’ll let you know ahead of time. We recommend using facilities before the trip starts.
